It is difficult to predict the future. The farther we dream upstream, the larger the variance and error in our predictive models. It happens quickly. I can propose only a few seconds to a minute if I am lucky. What does this have to do with anything, let alone this forum?
Well, Mr. Vonnegut (Vonnegut) sought to employ one of his tools of literature to snare us with the paradox that twists the mind when pondering the arrow of time and causality.
This leads us secondly, to another of his tools that he deployed masterfully, Irony.
Lets bring it all together.
The Sirens of Titan
The Sirens of Titan is perhaps of the most important yet not fully recognized works of 20th century literature. The Sirens of Titan is a profound work of prose that has touched the mind and nudged the perspective of millions of individuals. Mr. Vonnegut will be remembered for his enormous dedication to his art and to the world of literature.
By reading Vonnegut's interviews, one learns, that this was not his favorite novel. He may not have even thought that much of it (this is a first person reference inferred from a brief meeting with Mr. Vonnegut. It was, however, adored by very many as a seminal work.
This forum is dedicated to discussions on this masterpiece (our perspective, only time will tell). We thank you Mr. Vonnegut, as it may not have been your intention, however, you did leave us a bright gem to adore and revisit with joy.
